EXPLORING WHITFIELD VALLEY NATURE TRAIL

When the days get busy and I need to clear my head, a walk along the Whitfield Valley Nature Trail is always something I gravitate towards. It has been pretty manic here the past week. Half term means juggling the children and working, it can get a lot, and burnout is awful – the sunshine does wonders for my mood and energy levels.

Safe to say the sun has got his hat on, and we have gone out to play. Ice creams in tow and a very long walk through the nature trail that is on our doorstep. Nila loved exploring, and it felt great to stretch our legs and breathe in some fresh air.

Whitfield Valley Local Nature Reserve is a big one and covers a large area of where I live. There are a few directions you can go, one heading to the train station and one actually leading you to Kadiann’s house. You can walk for miles, feed the ducks, and even fish. This reserve is perfect for family-friendly walks and outdoor activities.

We packed some jackets in case the weather turned; we do live in the UK, after all, the weather is always unpredictable, right?

We were recently sent some gilets from Lighthouse Clothing and wanted to share them with you. Nila chose the Alex Gilet – a waterproof gilet finished with a hand-drawn floral print.
The perfect gilet for cool summer evenings, fine autumnal days, or the ‘in-between’ drizzly weather. Rolling down grassy hills on a fun day out and scaling sand dunes can be tackled with confidence, knowing that if the weather starts to turn, this gilet will keep them cosy.

The insulated padding means they stay warm in any light showers until you can pop on their coat or use it as a layer on the coldest days. She looks so cute in this, and it is perfect to take on a summer picnic to keep the chill off.

I chose the Savannah hooded gilet – a longline, padded gilet, made from 100% recycled fill. Teaming style with comfort, this gilet is the cutest and cosiest one I own. I love it on,it feels so comfy and easy to move around in.
If you own a gilet, you will know what I mean! Big pockets are a bonus, and I absolutely love the colour. They do other colours too – black, khaki, and cream.

Hoping summer is here to stay so we can plan some more days out and soak up those happy endorphins.
